Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center's website. I hope you find our website to be helpful in making your choices for cancer care.
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is a comprehensive cancer center offering programs of excellence in the fields of medical oncology, radiation oncology, research and social services. The opportunities to have an impact on improving the lives of patients with cancer have never been greater. Our board certified oncologists and staff at Willamette Valley Cancer Institute are committed in their continued efforts to provide the latest advances in cancer treatment. Hope, knowledge, integrity and compassion are offered to every patient that seeks care at our facility. No patient is turned away, and each patient is given a treatment plan that is specific to his or her individual diagnosis and needs. Our center has been successfully treating cancer patients for over 10 years in this same location. Our physicians and staff bring years of experience and knowledge to each patient. Each family member is given an opportunity to learn about their loved ones disease process by attending the educational series designed for the patient and their family. Our social services department works with patients and their families in identifying any special needs that they may have. Our two social workers are available to help find transportation to and from the center for treatment. They are available to help counsel patients in finding resources to help with the cost of cancer care, or they are available to simply listen to concerns. During the course of treatment, patients are also offered the availability of support groups, as well as the services of our dietician. Our research department is available to screen patients for enrollment into one of our many clinical trials that are offered at Willamette Valley Cancer Institute. We believe that clinical trials are an integral part of our comprehensive efforts to provide cancer patients in our community with access to the latest therapies and treatment options.
During the next decade, many steps will be taken in cancer care. Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center will remain at the forefront of cancer research and treatment.
