WVCC Education RoomThe Willamette Valley Cancer Center Education Room provides books, pamphlets and videotapes covering a wide range of cancer topics for you to browse and check out.
Educational SeriesKnowledge and understanding of your disease process as well as knowledge of the various treatment modalities will allow you greater peace of mind during your fight against cancer.
Willamette Valley Cancer Center offers a six-week educational series for you and your family. This series, given by physicians and other Willamette Valley Cancer Center health care providers, enables you to understand what exactly cancer is and how it affects your body. You will also learn about radiation and chemotherapy, two common treatments for cancer. By the end of the course you will have insight as to how these treatments work, their side effects, and why treatments are individualized to meet your specific needs.
During this six-week course, you will also attend a session given by our licensed dietitian who will discuss the importance of nutrition during your treatment course. You will also have a chance to learn of outside resources that are available to you in one of the sessions that is given by our licensed social worker.
